Our very first large scale fundraiser was a SUCCESS!
Thank you to Cool Beans, Kathy, Vic, Tammy, and everyone who donated their time, skills, singing, equipment, and finances to make this Benefit Concert happen. I can’t tell you enough how much that meant and how much we appreciate your support and sacrifice.
I have to admit, I prepared myself just in case only 8 or 10 people showed up. I didn’t want to be too disappointed. Richard went early to help set up while I stayed behind to make phone calls concerning logistics and Apache. At the posted start time, I walked into the parking lot in Cool where the coffee shop is -and music was playing over the loud speakers and people were spilling out onto the sidewalk! I couldn’t believe the turn out. Hotdogs and burgers were on the grill outside, a big banner was up, incredibly talented musicians were sharing their musical gift, and everyone was friendly and wanted to talk! I don’t even know how many people were there, but it was a lot! Richard and I were handed the microphone and spotlight a few times throughout the evening. We shared details about the ride, the vision of Hearts Up Ranch, our personal stories, and adventure tales from the trail. While we were mingling, we enjoyed the music and food. We met many wonderful people- some old friends, some familiar faces we had met along our ride, and many new friends who came to support the cause. We were truly overwhelmed and touched at the support and financial generosity that was shown on this evening.
Thank you to everyone who came to support us, who donated to Hearts Up Ranch, who shared their time and talent, and who participated in this event in any way. It is encouragment like this that helps us focus on the big picture and push through when the journey gets tough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. – Richard and Jeannette
